Humboldt alumni, friends, and family are
invited to our spring seminar, to be held on Tuesday April
13, at the Champaign County Historical Museum at 102 E.
University Ave in Champaign. Dannel McCollum, recent mayor
of the City of Champaign, has agreed to present a seminar
entitled "The History of a 20th Century University
Town, as Seen Through Postcards" For those who haven't
visited the newly restored Cattle Bank, located in the
oldest registered building in Champaign County, this is
an excellent opportunity to view the collection.
The museum will be open from 6:30 - 9:00
pm, with the seminar and slide show scheduled for 7:00.
Some parking is available in the adjacent lot to the north,
additional parking is available across 1st St., north
of the
police station. Seating is limited to 50, but in case
of overflow, a 2nd showing is possible. Please RSVP to
help in planning seating and refreshments. Donations to
the Champaign County Historical Society are always welcome.

students who are potential candidates for any of the fellowships
offered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The
programs are listed below, including the new Summer Research
Fellowship designed with junior faculty in mind. More
