Dr. Cori Crane has earned the LAS Academic Professional Award for 2009-2010. In 1993, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences established the LAS Academic Professional Awards to identify and honor selected academic professionals for their outstanding contributions to the college.

Lecture: Prof. Andrea Grafetstaetter, University of Bamberg and Visiting Distinguished Max Kade Professor, Illinois, will give a talk entitled "'daz geschiht von mannes minne'. Szenische und ikonographische Visualisierung heldenepischer Paarbeziehungen am Beispiel von Siegfried und Kriemhild" on Thursday, December 3 at 5:15 p.m. in the Lucy Ellis Lounge, Foreign Languages Building

Professor Bruce Murray and students from the Austria-Illinois Exchange Program (AIEP), in Illinois and Austria, recently participated in WE2 (World-Wide Environmental Exponents) events to plant hundreds of trees to compensate for their CO2 emissions. Professor Anke Pinkert has given an interview on the "Illinois International" website about the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and changes in the German cultural landscape since 1989. See http://www.ilint.uiuc.edu/

Professor Mara R. Wade is a recipient of an NEH/DFG grant of $300,000 over two years to support Emblematica Online: Emblem Digitization, The German Emblem Database, and The OpenEmblem Portal.
