SCAN 101 ELEMENTARY SCANDINAVIAN, I (SWEDISH), COORDINATOR: STENPORT

FA 06: 4 CREDIT HOURS, MTWR, 12 pm, G-46 FLB, INSTRUCTOR: JON SHERMAN
Introductory course that emphasizes all aspects of Swedish language, including speaking, listening, reading, writing, and learning about Swedish culture. Since the grammar and syntax of Swedish are relatively simple and many basic vocabulary words are similar to their equivalents in other Germanic languages (such as English and German), students are able to make rapid progress, and the course is taught primarily in Swedish for optimum exposure to the language. Course material includes Vägen till Sverige A (a textbook and a workbook); Prisma's Swedish-English and English-Swedish dictionary; a mini grammar and vocabulary list; and web-based labs and cultural exercises.
