Minor in German

The Minor in German offers students a background in the language through the advanced undergraduate level; an introduction to the study of German literary classics; and a knowledge of the history of German culture.

GER 320 - German for Business
GER 321 - German for Economics
GER 401 - Advanced Conversation, Composition, & Syntax (also called Current Issues in German Media)
GER 402 - German Stylistics

GER 331 - Introduction to German Literature I
GER 332 - Introduction to German Literature II
GER 465 - Structure of the German Language I (Phonology & Morphology)
GER 470 - German Literature: The Middle Ages to Baroque (750-1720)
GER 471 - German Literature: The Enlightenment to Romanticism (1720-1830)
GER 472 - German Literature: Realism to Expressionism (1830-1920)
GER 473 - German Literature: The Twenties to the Present
GER 474 - Poetics (Genre)

The Minor in German is available to students in any College. NOTE: GER 104, 211, 212, 331, 332, and 401 are offered every semester; GER 320, 420 and 465 in the Fall semester only; GER 321 and 402 in the Spring semester only. GER 470, 471, 472, 473, 474 are offered on a rotating basis - at least one is offered each semester.
